Elizabeth’s warm, caring, and inclusive nature enables trust and strength in her relationships to provide a safe and comfortable environment of trust and compassion. Respecting her clients as the authors of their own goals, she commits herself as a facilitator in her client’s journey to wellness with their care at the center of treatment.
Elizabeth believes in the power of human tenacity and resilience in situations of adversity using a multimodal humanistic approach to adult individual therapy with awareness.
Elizabeth’s areas of research are strength-based theories in positive psychology, resilience theory, poly-vagal theory, meditative and mindfulness practice. Other research areas that inform Elizabeth’s approach to therapy include sensitivity and competency in cultural diversity, BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, and a focus on grief and loss. As a cancer and trauma survivor, Elizabeth is committed helping others overcome difficult situations with compassion and empathy.
Elizabeth educational background includes a Masters in Counselling Psychology/Psychotherapy, a Masters in Education, and DEC in Social Science Studies. Her work experience includes training for the workplace and the general public in physical and mental health for
safety and prevention. Elizabeth is a volunteer for Bereaved Families of Ontario where she is trained as a peer group facilitator and has experience working with Canadian Mental Health as a support in delivery of mental health programs, Women in Crisis support training, Psychological First Aid certification, Safe Talk certification, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction training. She is committed to ongoing training to further her skills and provide her clients with the most up to date care. Elizabeth’s sense of purpose resides in her passion and commitment to serving her clients with excellence to the best of her ability.
