Heather's Profile:

Heather strives to create a therapeutic space that is open, accepting, and warm so clients feel comfortable in exploring their emotions and any life challenges they're facing. She is passionate about helping her clients achieve their counselling goals through a collaborative approach, placing the client as the expert in their own life.

Heather has completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Thanatology from Western University, which is where she discovered a passion for the study of death, dying, grief and bereavement. She then went on to complete a Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Waterloo. Heather has discovered a passion for helping people navigate and normalize their experiences with grief and bereavement while empowering them to continue living full and meaningful lives.

Heather has experience in providing individual counselling to adults and older adults in end-of-life care and hospice settings as well as previous work in mental health. She has supported a wide range of individuals, including those at end-of-life, recently bereaved, caregivers, and those facing other mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and substance misuse.
