Samantha's Profile:

Samantha’s priority is to create a welcoming, accepting and safe therapeutic space. Her approach to counselling is grounded in her non-judgmental attitude as well as her genuine and calm presence. She works from a “whole person” approach, working collaboratively to use your strengths and work towards your therapeutic goals.

Samantha has experience working with youth, adults and older adults in a variety of community counselling and hospital settings. She supports clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, stress management, life transitions and emotion regulation. She works with youth specific issues including bullying, school issues, parent’s separation/divorce and trauma. When applicable she enjoys using art-based activities with youth. She has a special interest in pregnancy and postpartum mental health.

Samantha completed her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Waterloo and Bachelor of Arts Specialization in Sociology at the University of Guelph. Samantha’s professional registration is with the College of Social Workers as a Registered Social Worker. She draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities in which she has received training including; Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF‑CBT), and Mindfulness techniques.
