She incorporates interventions from therapeutic modalities including Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centred Psychodynamic Therapy.

Susana's Profile:

Susana is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and is an individual who aims to meet clients where they are at. Susana works to provide a safe, respectful, and secure space for clients. She recognizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship and through self-awareness and self-reflection, as well as on-going training and education, aims to provide a strong collaborative relationship. She acknowledges clients' strengths and resources, and recognizes them as experts of their own life and experiences. Susana collaborates with clients on their journey towards healing, self-acceptance, and self-compassion, while collaboratively engaging in goal-setting and needs assessment. She offers encouragement and hope while clients process trauma, discover resilience and work towards post-traumatic growth.

Susana incorporates interventions from a wide range of therapeutic modalities including narrative therapy, emotion-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, Internal Family Systems, person-centred psychodynamic therapy. She employs an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed lens and strengths-based approach with an attachment framework.

Susana graduated from the University of Toronto with a double major in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies, and holds a diploma of Assaulted Women and Children's Counsellor/Advocate from George Brown College. Susana is a student at Yorkville University in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program, expected to graduate in April of 2023, and a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). As an on-going learner, Susana is always seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth. She is a passionate advocate for gender inequality, intimate partner violence, and visible minorities like the Hispanic community. Susana works with individuals who are experiencing violence, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, work-related stress, childhood trauma and life transitions. Susana will meet the client where they are at, and engage in a collaborative, co-constructed therapeutic journey.
