How much does counselling cost?

Currently our fee schedule ranges from $120 to $160 per hour, depending on the time and nature of the service provided, plus the training and experience of the therapist.

  • Individual Session with a Registered Social Worker (RSW): $120 - $140
  • Couple or Family Session with a Registered Social Worker (RSW): $160
  • Individual Session with a Registered Psychotherapist (RP): $120 - $140
  • Couple or Family Session with a Registered Psychotherapist (RP): $160

Are your services covered by extended health benefits?

Counselling with a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker is usually covered by a majority of insurance plans. We have worked with clients who were covered by Manulife, Sun Life, Great-West life, Green Shield, Blue Cross and other insurance companies. Students at the University of Guelph, University of Waterloo, and Wilfrid Laurier University can also take advantage of our counseling services as they are covered by their student benefits.

Each insurance company has different policies and so it’s hard to determine which plans cover what. To find out if your insurance plan covers therapy services, you can:

  • Contact your insurance company to confirm if you are covered for counseling/therapy with a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker
  • Look on your insurance company’s benefits online to find out if their is coverage on counseling with a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker
  • Email your HR representative to find out if your benefits include counseling/therapy with a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker

Receipts are provided with license number at the end of each session. Fees for Registered Psychotherapy or Registered Social Worker may be reimbursable by your extended health benefits. Please contact your insurance company to confirm your available coverage per year.

What is your rescheduling policy?

We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancelling or rescheduling your appointment. The cancellation fee without notice is the full session fee.

What are your payment options?

Payments are accepted through debit, or credit card. The credit cards accepted are Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Payments are due at the end of each session.

Are your services tax deductible?

If you do not have insurance, my services are also considered as authorized medical expenses in Ontario as recognized by the ​CRA and services are deductible for your annual tax return. To learn more about this option, click here.
