Counselling Services     Meet Our Team

We are committed to providing:

Quality Service

When you are in distress, the last thing you need is a counselling service that does not offer the support you need. We carefully select our team members to ensure that they value human connection and prioritize the quality of service.

Accessibility

We strive to make therapy accessible. We incorporate technological features that will make it easier for you to access our services and we offer services during days, evenings, and weekends to give you a chance to access counselling outside of your work schedule.

Accountability

We stand behind our quality of service. If you have an unpleasant experience, our therapists will do everything in their power to make it right. If that doesn’t work, our clinical director will personally connect with you and set you up with a therapist that's the right fit for you.

Chettiar Counselling and Associates

Psychotherapy offers a non‑judgemental space to process your pain. Our therapists provide support for managing anxiety, depression, anger management, relationship issues, parenting support, separation & divorce, fertility challenges, grief & loss, trauma recovery, eating disorders and gaming overuse issues. We recognize that finding a therapist that fits your needs can be challenging. We offer a no-cost phone consultation to help you determine if the counselling services we provide will be a good fit for you.

Counselling serves as an opportunity for you to work through your concerns and connect with your feelings. We have the experience and expertise to help you develop your awareness and understand how your emotions drive your thoughts and behaviours. We will support you to develop new strategies that will be useful for managing the challenges you face.

Counselling Services

Individual Counselling

Our counselling services can be helpful for reducing anxiety, dealing with depression, anger management, parenting, and relationship issues. Whether you need short-term or long-term support to work through your concerns, we can guide you through the healing process and offer helpful strategies to manage the emotional distress.

Couples Counselling

Couples that are looking for ways to resolve conflict and foster a sense of connection in their relationship are likely to find couples counselling useful. We support couples by helping them identify negative patterns in their communication and work towards changing these patterns so that each partner feels supported by the other.

Online Counselling

To make psychotherapy more accessible for individuals and couples living outside of Guelph, we offer counselling services via video and phone. If you are unsure about meeting a therapist face-to-face, you can try this option. The effectiveness of e-counselling depends on your concerns. In our initial session, we will determine if this is a good fit for you.

Counselling for Teens

The emotional challenges that accompany the teen years can be overwhelming. Psychotherapy support during this time can be helpful to process difficult experiences in family relationships, academic and social anxiety. Your counsellor can help you connect with your emotions and find helpful ways to navigate these life experiences.

Counselling for Students

Are you a student at University of Guelph or Conestoga College who is trying to access mental health counselling services? Is there a long wait-list with your school counsellor? You may have access to insurance benefits that cover psychotherapy services. A counsellor can help you by offering support to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.

Counselling for Young Adults

Young adults face a transitional stress that tends to be related to difficult life decisions such as relationships, finance, and career path. With counselling support, you will have a chance to explore your values and manage difficult emotions that may be coming in the way of your decision-making ability.
