How many counselling sessions do I need?
The number of counseling sessions will depend greatly on your goals, presenting concerns, and past history. In most cases, counseling will only take around six sessions. But if your situation is more complex, counseling may be required for months and in severe cases it can take years.
Individual sessions generally last 50 minutes and will be on a weekly basis. The frequency of your sessions will depend on your presenting concerns and they may change over time.
You can come in for individual or couples therapy as long as you’re finding the therapy helpful and as long as we both agree on helpful counseling goals. Since each individual has their own path to wellbeing, there isn't a specific number to how many sessions you will require to address your issues.
